Springfield College

Springfield College was originally founded in 1885 as a pioneer in teaching and scholarship related to physical education, wellness, and the training of YMCA executives. Led by its distinctive humanics philosophy, education of the whole person – spirit, mind, and body – for leadership in service to humanity, the College continues to educate leaders for the allied health sciences, human and social services, sports and movement activities, and the arts and sciences. Its longstanding tradition of collaboration with the YMCA is maintained through the presence of a full-time national YMCA staff member on campus, and dynamic links to more than 2,000 YMCAs throughout the United States and to YMCAs in 130 countries around the world. The College offers coursework in many fields for traditional-age students, as well as adult degree completion programs for YMCA employees and other human services professionals at satellite campuses. Springfield College alumni are the largest single source of YMCA staff worldwide.
