YMCA HALL OF FAME INDUCTIONS ARE CELEBRATED EVERY THREE YEARS AT YMCA GENERAL ASSEMBLIES
SELECTION PROCESS
– 2016 induction nominee applications and support materials may be submitted beginning in the fall of 2013 through the deadline of Monday, November 30, 2015. Active or retired YMCA employees may serve as primary nominators. Candidates may be retired YMCA employees, retired or active YMCA volunteers.
– Staff candidates for induction must have completed their YMCA careers not less than five years before being considered. These individuals must have had recognized exceptional influence on the YMCA Movement, nationally or internationally, and be acknowledged by their peers as outstanding YMCA leaders.
– Volunteer candidates must have had demonstrable influence of a profound and lasting nature on the national or international YMCA Movement.
– For each induction cycle, a Selection Committee is appointed by the YMCA Hall of Fame Executive Committee, which consists of the CEOs of the sponsoring organizations of the YMCA Hall of Fame: YMCA of the USA, the YMCA Retirement Fund, Springfield College, and the Association of YMCA Professionals. The Selection Committee is staffed by the Springfield College Director of the Office of YMCA Relations.
– The YMCA Hall of Fame Selection Committee reviews nominations and forwards approved candidates to the YMCA Hall of Fame Executive Committee, which makes the final determination about the candidates to be inducted.
