Since the inception of the National YMCA Hall of Fame in 1985 on the campus of Springfield College, nearly 150 people have been inducted. Today, the induction ceremony takes place every four years at the General Assembly of YMCAs to honor and celebrate these YMCA giants who were visionaries and pioneers, touching the lives of millions, and personifying what is best about the YMCA.

“I felt very blessed and proud that I had been nominated and had actually achieved that honor. I’m hoping that [my induction] tells people I tried my best to make things better, to be more inclusive, to move towards some kind of equity.”
